Things you should and shouldn't do to Stop Bedwetting in Your Child


Bedwetting is a very embarrassing situation for parents and the kids who are affected by it. Usually kids who wet their beds before the ages of 3 -4 years old do not create any concern for the parents and other family members.  It is a major self-esteem killer for kids above 5 years of age as they lose a lot of confidence during this phase. It may leave kids with some deep rooted tribulations and anxiety that may influence their lives badly. It is therefore very imperative for parents to support their beloved kids to defeat their bedwetting habit and to aid them to stay positive about life regardless of their dilemma. 





Things you should do if your child wets the bed at night

Ø  Let your child that the problem is common and easy to manage.
Ø  Inform your child that a treatment can help
Ø  Motivate your child

More over you should:-  

Ø  Share your Story: It is common that at least one parent of the kids who wets to bed had the same dilemma as a kid themselves. A parent can share his/her story to console their own children consequently removing mental pressure or sorrow the kid may be going through.

Ø  Inform your child about the possible causes of bedwetting:  Parents have to be able to figure out the actual cause of the problem so that they may help their children in managing bedwetting problem.

Ø  Let them know about the changing habits: Tell them that the changing habits like limiting the intake of fluids before sleeping can help to manage this problem.

Things you should never do if your child wets the bed at night

Ø  Never humiliate your child
Ø  Never punish your kid as he/she does not wet the bed on purpose
Ø  Don’t lose patience.
Ø  Do not talk on this topic in front of others, especially your kid’s friends.
